Based on SDKI of 2017, Indonesia's IMR has decreased from 32 per 1,000 live births in 2012 to 24 per 1,000 live births. In an effort to reduce infant mortality, labor methods began to develop which are expected to help reduce childbirth trauma in the mother and baby, namely the lotus birth. Lotus birth is a method of labor without cutting the umbilical cord after the baby is born and leaving the umbilical cord completely removed. This study is a literature review to determine the effect of the lotus birth method on newborns, The lotus birth method is very important for babies after birth, because both mother and baby both get many benefits, one of which is the achievement of bounding attachments. The results of several literature studies have a significant effect between the method of lotus labor with breathing, circulation and thermoregulation in newborns. There is an increase in the average baby's weight after being born with the lotus birth method is 3085 grams.  One week and one month later, the baby's weight increase sequentially to 3431 and 4542.34 grams.
