Nausea and vomiting (emesis gravidarum) is a symptom that often appears in trimester I. pregnancy usually occurs in the morning, but can also occur every day and night, this occurs because relaxation in the digestive muscles include peristalsis so that digestion of food is boiled by the stomach becomes longer and easily peristaltic back to the esophagus, besides that also because of the influence of HCG homon, various ways that are done to overcome nausea and vomiting is one of them is giving ginger water.

Ginger is a plant with a million benefits that have been known for a long time. Ginger is one of the important herbs. The rhizomes are of many benefits, including spices, drinks, and sweets and are also used in traditional herbal remedies. The first advantage of ginger is the content of essential oils that have a refreshing effect and block the vomiting reflex, while gingerol can launch blood and the nerves work well. As a result the tension can be thawed, the head becomes fresh, nausea and vomiting are suppressed. The aroma of fragrant ginger is produced by arsiri oil, while the oleoresis causes a spicy taste that warms the body and sweats.

Some research results show that ginger is a therapeutic ingredient to relieve and reduce nausea and vomiting. In addition, ginger is also effective in reducing emesis gravidarum in first trimester pregnant women and decreases nausea and vomiting in multigravida mothers.
