Author Guidelines

  1. Aims and scopes

Scientia Journal publishes papers (in Bahasa Indonesia ) reporting the results of original research, short communications and critical reviews on all laws fields. It covers a wide range of Health fields.

  1. Types of paper

Original research papers

The papers should report the results of original research and manuscripts have not been previously published elsewhere and should be exclusively submitted to the JIF. Further requirement for this type of paper please refer to point 6 (Preparation).

Review articles

Review articles should provide concise and critical updates on a subject of current interest. Further requirement for this type of paper please refer to point 6 (Preparation).

Short communications

Short communications are a concise but complete description of a limited investigation (experiment). This type of paper should not occupy more than 8 manuscript pages, including figures, tables and references.

  1. Conflict of interest

All authors are requested to disclose any potential conflict of interest including any financial, personal or other relationships with other people or organizations.

  1. Ethics committee approval

Investigations using human and/or experimental animals must state in the methods section that the research was conducted in accordance with the internationally accepted principles and was approved by the institutional human or animal experimentation committee or equivalent, and that informed consent was obtained.

  1. Submission

Authors should follow the format of the journal. Editable files (e.g. Word) are required to typeset your articles for final publication. Each manuscript is reviewed by the editor. If it is suitable for publication, it is then sent to at least two reviewers for blind review. Based on their evaluations, the editor decides whether the paper could be accepted, revised or rejected. Please submit your manuscripts to the online submission. All correspondences, including notification of the editor’s decision and request for revision, are informed in the online journal system. Please check regularly your account for the updates. There is no submission fee. All correspondences should be directed to the editorial office of the journal, i.e.:

  1. Preparation

Manuscript should be written with Cambria font number 11, 1.5 space, maximum 20 pages on A4 paper with margin 3 cm from all sides. Every line and page should be numbered. Divide your articles into clearly numbered sections and sub sections (1, 1.1, 1.1.1; 2, 2.1, 2.1.1, etc.). The files should be saved in the native format of the word processor. The text should be in a single-column format. Prepare the figures, charts and graphs separately from the text files.

  2. Original Article

Original article should contain a title page, abstract accompanied with key words, introduction, materials and methods, results and discussion, conclusion, acknowledgement (if any) and references.

Title page

The title should be concise (not more than 14 words) and informative. Please clearly indicate the given name(s) and family name(s) of each author. Present the authors’ affiliation addresses below the names. Clearly indicate who will handle correspondence at all stages of publication by presenting his/her email address.

Abstract

The abstract should state briefly (100-200 words) the objectives of the research, methods used, the principal results and main conclusions. References and uncommon abbreviations should be avoided from the abstract. Please state 3-5 keywords below the abstract. For articles in Bahasa Indonesia, the abstract should be written both in Bahasa Indonesia .

Introduction

State the background and objectives of the research. Avoid a detailed literature review or summary of the results.

Materials and methods

Provide sufficient detail methods to allow the work to be reproduced. Methods already published should be indicated by a reference. Only relevant modifications should be described. Please state specific material and equipment used in the research, including the sources (e.g., company’s name, country). The statistical tool used to analyze the data should be mentioned. All procedures involving experimental animals or human subjects must accompany a statement of ethical approval from the appropriate ethics committee.

Results and discussion

Results should be clear and concise. Discuss the significance of the results of the work. Avoid extensive citations and discussion of published literature.

Conclusion

Present the conclusion which is the answer of research questions in a short paragraph.

Acknowledgement

List here those who provided help during the research (e.g., financial support, helpful discussion, data analysis, etc.).

References

Please ensure that every reference cited in the text is also present in the references list (and vice versa). Citations to these references will be formatted according to the journal style. Where applicable, author name(s), journal/book title, article/chapter title, year of publication, volume number/book chapter and the pagination must be present. Please format the references according to the HARDVARD style

  1. Review Article

Review articles could be in narrative or systematic review, with a maximum 5000 words. The article should contain a title page, abstract accompanied with key words, introduction, method, results and discussion, conclusion, acknowledgement (if any) and references.

Title page

The title should be concise (not more than 14 words) and informative. Please clearly indicate the given name(s) and family name(s) of each author. Introduction

The introduction should explain the scientific reason of the article, define the research question, and deliberate the scope of the review. Summary of recent study with relevant issues should be stated to strengthen the background and focus of the review.

Method

The method should state the search strategy and source of the database. Study selection (criteria of article) and data extraction should be shown for systematic review.

Result and Discussion

The part is the main body text of the review. To make it concise and clear, It may be divided into subsections referring to research questions or scope of review. This should state the result of the review clearly with an informative table or figure. 

Systematic review should follow the PRISMA guideline (Moher D, Liberati A, Tetzlaff J, Altman DG, and the PRISMA Group. Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses: The PRISMA Statement. Ann Intern Med. 2009; 151:264-269. doi:10.7326/0003-4819- 151-4-200908180-00135). Evaluation on a design, outcome, and limitation of the study should be used to discuss relevant findings rather than based on opinion or personal judgement.

Literature review should explain the specific topic comprehensively. It may state and explain the appropriate opinion with the scientific argument referring to the relevant previous study.

Conclusions

This should state clear and concise conclusions which are relevant with the objective of this review. Explanation of the significance to the field of study may be added shortly.

Figure and table

Please supply figures separately from the text. Please save as or convert the image to the JPEG or TIF files. Ensure that each figure has a caption. Supply captions separately, not attached to the figure. A caption should comprise a brief title and a description of the illustration. Please submit tables as editable text and not as images. Tables can be placed either next to the relevant article, or on separate page(s) at the end of the text. Number tables consecutively in accordance with their appearance in the text and place any table’s note below the table body. Please avoid using vertical rules.
